Hi I'm Alice, mum of two young children, former Engineer and teacher, and creator of WonderLAB.

The WonderLAB journey began while striving to create a balance between doing something I am passionate about while having the flexibility to nurture my young family.

"Alice is brilliant. She is engaging, knowledgeable and so approachable, friendly and fun."
"I just adore Alice, and so does my daughter. Alice has such a wonderful way with the children, with a gorgeous balance of questioning and encouragement with the children. If you could ask for someone to teach your children, or to look after your children, this person would be Alice."
“Alice is so passionate about the content and it really shows. We get excited about what the theme and activities will be each week.”

Originally from Stoke-on-Trent, I grew up in a large family where we were always creating, building and learning through experimentation. One of my earliest childhood memories was being in a DIY store and sifting through the open containers of nuts, bolts and screws. I loved the way they felt and the sound they made. My parents empowered us that we could make anything with the right skills and tools. This belief led me to design and create prom dresses for myself and my 4 friends at the high school prom.

At school I was an avid member of Young Engineers of Great Britain and went on to study Industrial design at Loughborough University.

I started out as a process engineer and have worked in a number of fields such as; medical devices, pottery, clothing lines and product safety consulting. During my 7 years as an engineer I had the incredible opportunity to work with a special needs school as a STEM ambassador. Over the course of a year, we built a kit car with the students and raced it at Goodwood race track. This experience changed me forever.

The spark that was ignited in the children while making something together was truly inspiring.

I knew that I had to pursue this love of teaching and so in 2017 I completed my primary school teacher training.

In 2018 I took a break to be at home with my newborn daughter Robyn and in 2020 Rory came along. My children have been the catalyst in helping me to confirm how strong my passion is for inspiring children to explore, experiment, and play through meaningful activities. And here I am today.Join me on a journey where you’ll get to experience the same joy when your child takes part in S.T.E.A.M. activities.
